Families whose babies can crawl should stop using the recalled swings and swings and place them where babies cannot reach them. Those who own the recalled products can sign up for a free webbing clip to prevent the webbing from extending under the swing when not in use.

“We are deeply saddened by the two incidents that occurred when infants slid under the seat of unoccupied MamaRoo swings,” 4moms CEO Gary Waters said in an emailed statement. “The free strap fixing kit we have designed is an easy to install solution which we believe will prevent any further mishaps from occurring,” he added.

Rocker arm safety warning

Monday’s recall comes two months after the The CPSC has warned Americans against using baby rockers for sleep, citing at least 14 deaths linked to products made by Fisher-Price and another by Kids2.

Parents and caregivers should never use tilted products – including seesaws, gliders, pacifiers and swings – for infants to sleep in, nor should they leave babies in products unattended or with equipment bedding due to the risk of suffocation, the agency and the companies said.

President Biden signed into law in May Safe Baby Sleep Actwhich prohibits the manufacture or sale of padded bumper pillows and reclined sleeping products related to hundreds of deaths.
