Case : Club Atlético Osasuna’s last pre-season game played at Anduva.
In the first half, Jagoba Arrasate’s team tried to take possession of the ball and create chances with arrivals from both sides, but Anduva’s team were very solid in defensive tasks and barely conceded opportunities to the Navarrese. Moreover, the team led by Joseba Etxeberria repeatedly threatened long trips behind the red defense, although none managed to reach their destination. Before the half-hour mark, Mirandés took the lead after an unfortunate action by Aridane which ended with the ball in the back of the net. After the 1-0, Miranda’s team took a step back and gave the ball to an Osasuna who could not get their hands on the defensive network, reaching the break with the local advantage.
After the restart, Osasuna came out with one more step and pushed the Mirandés towards their domains. Chimy Ávila threatened with a shot from inside the box that went over the crossbar and, just as playing time had expired, Darko took advantage of a messy play at the inside the surface to equalize. With the draw, the El Sadar team went further and showed their superiority against a Mirandés who kept trying.
In the 68th minute, Rubén Peña had a very neat chance that didn’t end in a goal. The quick rojillo player got up one-on-one against Herrero and tried to beat him with a Vaseline, but the keeper didn’t give up, held on and managed to save the ball. The Navarrese continued to insist and, fifteen minutes from the end of the match, Rober Ibáñez did not waste a ball that remained dead after a good intervention by Herrero after a shot from Chimy Ávila to send it to the back of the net, making a 1-2 which was final. In the final moments, Chimy Ávila tried again, but found the correct answer from Herrero, causing the scoreboard to not move.
Thus, Club Atlético Osasuna ended its pre-season with a victory against Club Deportivo Mirandés. Jagoba Arrasate’s men’s next match will take place next Friday, August 12 at 9:00 p.m. at El Sadar against Sevilla Fútbol Club on Matchday 1 of LaLiga Santander 2022/23.
