Joan Laporta gives Robert Lewandowski a gift with her face, under the slogan “Welcome, Lewandowski”.
Question time ends at the press conference.
Laporta: “I think the relationship with Bayern is still good. We respect the team a lot, our relationship is good and we respect them a lot.”
Lewandowski: “The first thing I do when I wake up is have breakfast (laughs), then I train. I do what I want the most. I want to keep improving and when I wake up, I want to play at a very high level. I still have this mentality of working hard and having fun. The passion I have for football will remain the same”.
Lewandowski: “I’m always ready to play against Real Madrid, I know how to play against them. Their last season was very good, but we’re here to beat them. It won’t be easy, but we’ll try. Winning isn’t only important, we have to play at the highest level, we will go out on the pitch to win all the matches and also the Champions League. It will be a real challenge, we are ready for the classic. I am not thinking of Real Madrid or at Benzema, he’s a fantastic goalscorer”.
Laporta: “We are a great team. It was a very difficult year, we had to make many important decisions and under a lot of pressure. We are happy with the way everything is going. We continue to work so that the club resumes its cruising speed to have the stability and the calm to win titles again. We want to have a competitive team and give joy to the fans. Not unleashed, I’m happy like the rest of the Catalans. I’ve been to a lot of presentations and these are very important moments. Ronaldinho and Robert were there. It’s part of another historic moment for Barça”.
Mateu Alemany: “We’ve been in the market for a long time. Azpilicueta had a very complicated situation at Chelsea and the club decided they don’t want to transfer the player. We wish him the best. We are focused on signing up, happy what we have”.
Laporta: “Today is a historic day for Barça, it indicates that we are on the right track. coming to the club will be for the way of understanding football, for the league, for the city… A year has passed since Messi’s farewell and we can say that we leave the hospital, in better health , but that cannot relax us”.
