the new ones have arrived OnePlus 10 5Gsome devices that follow the line of the OnePlus 10 Pro which we saw a few months ago but which pose important differences in trying to conquer the mobility landscape with two big bets: power and, of course, mobile photography.
the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will be the protagonist of the first section, while in the second the farewell to the alliance that OnePlus signed with Hasselblad last year stands out. There is another surprise farewell: that of the alert switch, which disappears to let, among other things, enjoy a lightning fast charge. And there is more: let’s see.

A familiar design (but something we’re missing)
The new OnePlus 10T follows the design lines of the OnePlus 10 Pro in many sections, but especially in this rear camera module in which we find four circular holes with a small change.

Three of them are for the sensors of this device, while the fourth is dedicated to the LED flash. Unlike the OnePlus 10 Pro, in the OnePlus 10T 5G the positions of the LED flash and one of the cameras have been swapped: The flash now occupies the upper right corner instead of the lower left corner.
The hole for the front camera also changes place and comes to occupy a central position at the top of the device, whereas in the OnePlus 10 Pro it occupied the upper right corner of this facade. The 6.7-inch screen dominates everything, and here’s good news for those who aren’t too keen on curved screens: that of the OnePlus 10T 5G is flat.
One of the great novelties of this design is that OnePlus get rid of the traditional Alert sliderthis switch that allowed you to physically activate the “Do not disturb” mode in a much faster and more direct way.
It’s a shame because it was one of the characteristics of these devices, which they keep a small logo on the back of OnePlus and keep the power button on the right side (if we are looking at the screen from the front) and the volume buttons on the left.
And OnePlus indicated that by removing this switch can offer faster charging (thanks to two “charging pumps” that double this power), a larger capacity battery (it should have been 4,500 mAh if it was still included) and better mobile signal reception.

The back cover is another step in the evolution of OnePlus designs, which has gone through different frame materials and shapes —I had this OnePlus One with a bamboo case, what good memories—, and now they are betting on a monocoque chassis that has been redesigned and stylized for this model and in which glass is the protagonist.
We have two different colors: ‘Moonstone Black’ – with a curious texture with micro-grooves – and Jade Green, a pale and smooth green which, as in the previous case, is provided with a layer resistant to fingerprints.

This last section has been improved with a system of 15 antennae located around the body of the device and allow, for example, not to lose the quality of signal reception even when we play with the mobile and cover part of its case with our hands.
Potency and Vertigo Charge
The new OnePlus 10T 5G features the most powerful processor to date, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1a chip which is of course the key to performance in areas such as mobile photography and which of course also clearly helps if we want to use this device for gaming on mobile.

At OnePlus, they even created a specific case for gamers that helps to further cool the device during intense gaming sessions.
It is precisely in this section of the game that OnePlus avoids overheating and a longer duration of the experience at maximum performance with your cooling systemlike the ‘3D Cooling System 2.0’ lama.
According to OnePlus playing demanding games, the new system maintains the temperature between 2 and 3 ºC below of what has been achieved by the competition’s mobile phones after an hour of play. use of materials such as copper or graphite.
Accompanying this SoC, there is first of all the RAM memory, which can reach 16GB LPDDR5 which are also powered by a new intelligent management system to reduce lag and facilitate even more efficient multitasking. The storage capacity can be 128 or 256 GB with UFS 3.1 format.
Another standout feature is the OnePlus 10T 5G display, which has a diagonal of 6.7 inches and which supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. The refresh rate adjusts dynamically using LPTO2 technology, and we also have HDR10+ support to enjoy our content on this device.

The operating system of this terminal also presents novelties: we are facing an Android 12 terminal with OxygenOS 12.1, but OnePlus has given clues about the future OxygenOS 13 with the so-called Aquamorphic Design, a design language inspired by nature and reminiscent of that Aqua interface with which Apple raised the first versions of Mac OS X.
With this system, there will not only be improvements in the interface, but also a lower load and better memory management. According to OnePlus, the system is 30% smoother, apps install 20% faster and also run 10% faster. This new version will debut on the OnePlus 10 Pro, and will later arrive on the OnePlus 10T 5G.
long live fast charging
However, the other big highlight of the new OnePlus mobile is fast charging: the 4800mAh battery can be charged up to 150W.

Two charging “pumps” of 75W each provide access to this common 150W fast charge.
They call this 150W SUPERBOOC Endurance Edition mode and it allows us to have enough charge in just 10 minutes to last all day, they say at OnePlus. In reality to charge the whole battery we will only need 19 minutesensures the manufacturer.
Fast charging doesn’t seem to affect battery degradation noticeably either: an intelligent charging algorithm means that even using this ultra-fast charging you can enjoy 80% of the original battery capacity after 1600 charging cycles, which equates to approximately four years of device use. The use of temperature sensors makes it possible to adjust this charging power without degrading the battery.
The charge also has a 128-bit encryption algorithm capable of recognizing official SUPERVOOC adapters, which will make only if these chargers are detected maximum charging powers are applied, thus avoiding accessories that are not fully compatible.

Small note here: to recharge at this power you must have 220 V sockets, which are used in Europe for example. All OnePlus 10T 5G Includes SUPERVOOC 160W adapter and USB-C cable in the box. This adapter can also be used to charge laptops or tablets thanks to its support for the Power Delivery protocol.
Cameras say goodbye to Hasselblad
In 2021, OnePlus teamed up with Hasselblad to try to offer a significant guarantee on the quality of its cameras, but the truth is that that working together does not seem to have yielded the expected results.

In fact, in the OnePlus 10 Pro we could see how the photographic section seemed to lose points instead of gaining them compared to previous models. In the OnePlus 10T 5G, this collaboration disappearsand it will be interesting to see how this affects the photographic performance of these models.
The main sensor it’s the 50 MP, OIS and 1/1.56 inch Sony IMX766 (in the OnePlus 10 Pro it was the 48 Mpixel IMX789) which, according to Hope Liu, one of the terminal’s design managers, allows 10-bit color capture and also improves HDR photography and night photography .
The new camera system is reinforced by an ultra wide angle with a field of view of 119º and also by a macro camera. The software benefits from the so-called Image Clarity Engine (ICE), a system that updates post-processing algorithms to capture photos faster and with greater detail.
This system joins the HDR 5.0 and TurboRAW systems, and with them OnePlus also wants to offer improvements in night photos. We’ll have to see how it performs in testing, but of course the unknown is whether the break with Hasselblad will have an impact in these photographic results.
