To take on the Lich King, players will engage in a perilous journey through the winter forests and snow-capped peaks of Northrend, the largest continent that Blizzard has added to the game as part of an expansion (until the next version of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight). There they will experience some of the most breathtaking settings and memorable scenarios in all of Warcraft history as they fight their way to besiege Icecrown and defeat one of the greatest threats Azeroth has ever known.
“Wrath of the Lich King Classic includes epic features like massive icy environments, unique raids and dungeons, and a gripping conclusion to Prince Arthas’ story,” said Holly Longdale, Executive Producer of World of Warcraft. All of this made the original expansion a favorite of many of our players and the Blizzard team. We look forward to providing an authentic experience for returning veterans and a breathtaking adventure for newcomers exploring Azeroth for the first time.”
This expansion will help rise of the death knights, the fearsome hero class available to all players from level 55. As former champions of the Lich King, Death Knights defeat their foes using dark magic and runic powers. Also the achievement system will be included for the first time of World of Warcraft, which celebrates the milestones achieved by players in the game, as well as a new profession: Inscription, which allows players to create glyphs that alter the appearance and modify the properties of spells and abilities .
Players will be able to test their skills and use new abilities in the 13 new Wrath of the Lich King dungeons, such as Ahn’Kahet: The Old Kingdom, where they will face the minions of the ancient god Yogg-Saron; or The Stratholme Massacre, where they will relive the tragic event in Warcraft history that caused the downfall of Prince Arthas. Those who want to face a greater challenge can face the 9 gangs introduced throughout the expansion, like the updated versions of Naxxramas and Onyxia’s Lair from the first World of Warcraft. And of course, Icecrown Citadel awaits them, where the story of the Lich King comes to an amazing end.
They can also enjoy a 50% bonus experience with Adventures Like No Other, an event that will last until Wrath of the Lich King Classic releases on September 26.
