An update with more power and a redesigned camera module which aspires to become the high-end mobile with the new processor Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 the cheapest on the market.

A beast with up to 18 GB of RAM
The Nubia Z40S Pro is a more streamlined mobile than the previous model. We went from a screen with curved edges to a flat mobile, where also the rear camera module has been redesigned to make it more compact. It is a mobile with a more sober design, but inside it hides enormous power, worthy of the most advanced mobiles of the moment.
Nubia offers a panel 6.67-inch OLED with FullHD+ resolution and high 144Hz refresh rate. It has a hole in the central screen, a fingerprint reader under this same panel, compatibility with HDR10 and a maximum brightness level of up to 1000 nits. The screen rate reaches 94.8%, being one of the mobiles with fewer edges.
Inside is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, along with various storage and RAM options. The base model comes with 128GB and 8GB of RAM, but the most advanced model reaches 1TB UFS 3.1 and adds up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Some figures difficult to see today even among the most expensive mobiles.
For cooling it has a 3062 mm2 vapor chamber and for the battery we have two options. A basic with 5,000mAh and 80W fast charging and another more advanced with a little less battery, 4,600 mAh, but 120W fast charging.
At the photographic level, the Nubia Z40S Pro incorporates a 64-megapixel main sensor. It is Sony IMX787 with f/1.6 aperture, OIS and 35mm lens. The triple camera configuration is completed by a 116º wide angle and 50 megapixel camera, as well as an 8 megapixel telephoto sensor that also incorporates optical image stabilization.
In the case of the wide-angle sensor, it also allows macro images up to 2 centimeters. At the front, a 16-megapixel sensor is added and is complemented by Nubia’s NEOVision technology for image processing.
On the connection side, nothing is missing. We have NFC, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and USB-C. The device was presented in China and comes with its personalization layer MyOS 12, next to Android 12.
Nubia Z40S Pro versions and prices
The Nubia Z40S Pro arrives in multiple configurations, based on RAM and storage, but also on battery. The mobile was presented in China and is presented as the cheapest top of the range with the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1being a bit cheaper than Realme GT2 Master Editionrecently introduced.
Here are the different versions and their corresponding prices:
- Nubia Z40S Pro (8 GB + 128 GB): 3,399 yuan (about 492 euros)
- Nubia Z40S Pro (8 GB + 256 GB): 3,699 yuan (about 535 euros)
- Nubia Z40S Pro (12 GB + 256 GB): 3,999 yuan (about 578 euros)
- Nubia Z40S Pro (12 GB + 512 GB): 4,499 yuan (about 651 euros)
Additionally there is a 120W fast charging model, whose configuration reaches 18 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. All models are available in two colors: black and green.
