Basket Valencia reached an agreement to integrate Montenegrin Passport American playmaker Jonah Radebaugh into his first men’s team (1.91, USA, 1997-06-17, 25 years old) for the next two campaigns. The player has competed for the past two seasons with German MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, a team where last season he averaged 14.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals and a PIR of 17.2 per game in BBL easy credit. He is a versatile player, able to provide attacking and physical talents in defense in any of the outside positions.
Outstanding Academic Career
The North American player began his college days in 2016 with the Northern Colorado Bears in his home state. From the first year, he was named best defender of the year by “Big Sky”, being the second player in the history of the university to win this award. In addition, he was the player with the most minutes and the best rebounder. The following season he continued to lead and in 2018-19 he not only repeated the best defender award, but his numbers also increased and he was chosen in the best quintet. Last campaign, he had 16.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.5 assists and a PIR of 21.5 per game.
First European experience in the Koping Stars
After not being drafted by the NBA in 2020, Radebaugh embarked on his first experience in Europe by signing with Sweden’s Koping Stars. 11 games in which he averaged 11.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and a PIR of 16.6 earned him a German team to notice him and include him in their team in December of the same year.
Great performances in the German league and in the Champions League
In December 2020, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg of easy credit BBL in Germany signed the point guard for the remainder of the season. Radebaugh averaged 4.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1 assist in the 16 games he played. His adaptation process peaked this past season when he hit 14.8 points (including nearly 40% triples), 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and an average PIR of 17 in 34 games in German championship. In the Basketball Champions League, he was included in the ideal quintet thanks to his average of 13.7 points (42.5% in triples), 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists and a PIR of 16.6.
