The Community of Madrid responds to the Madrid Puro Reggaeton Festival for its cancellation: “It has been acted” – More Madrid

This Thursday, the festival known as Madrid Puro Reggaeton Festival released a statement saying that just 24 hours after the event was held at the Wanda Metropolitano, the Community of Madrid notified them that they were withdrawing the license to perform it.

Will the festival take place?

The festival, which was to start this Friday, July 15 and last until Saturday, July 16, was to be held at the Caja Mágica in Madrid at first, but, in the end, for production reasons alleged by the organizers, it was moved to the Metropolitan of Wanda. This is where the source of the problems would be, since, like the The community of Madrid in a press release, after notifying the change of location, the necessary conditions would not have been met.

The festival had on its poster Daddy Yankee as a visible head, in one of his last concerts in Spain, in addition to many established artists such as Natti Natasha, Gente de Zona, Juan Magán, Ñengo Flow, Eladio Carrión or Bad Gyal, among others.

For its part, the organizing company received with “surprise, amazement and helplessness” the announcement of the Collectivity not to authorize the festival “with the historic farewell of Daddy Yankee and 35,000 people waiting”.

In this sense, she defended that a complete security and emergency plan was presented and that if the deadlines were exceeded by the promoter, it was because of the bureaucracy required by the Administration. “The administration requested more and more documentation and the festival team needed time to satisfy these requests,” the statement said.
