In Boltaña, with an excess of players

The Royal Zaragoza The concentration in Boltaña starts this Friday with a surplus of players. Nothing new since the start of the pre-season, but it is becoming worrying as the days go by. Marcos Baselga’s exit to Calahorra is the only one that has been made official in recent hours and, although from the club they assure that soon there will be more movements, Juan Carlos Carcedo faces the trip to Huesca with thirty soldiers at his disposal.

The La Rioja coach had insisted on the importance of achieving this concentration with a squad closer to the one he will lead during the season, but the sports management barely carried out half a dozen market transactions, mostly irrelevant.

So far Zaragoza’s signings are reduced as striker arrives Julien Simeone and the substitute goalkeeper Dani Rebollo; and the only confirmed departures are those of Sabin Merino, Marc Aguado, Vuckic, Angel Lopez and Baselgawhich this Thursday closed its march to Calahorra de Primera RFEF.

The local striker, who last season played for Zamora and had previously been loaned to Atlético Baleares, had not taken part in the last training sessions and knew he was not going to go to Boltaña, therefore his loss does not affect the group dynamic, this excess of players which complicates the work of Carcedo in the management of his sessions.

The trip in the afternoon

This Thursday morning, 25 footballers jumped onto the lawn of the Ciudad Deportiva to train under his orders. Only Christian Alvarez, Mouse, Clement, shoemaker, Vigaray – all of whom have physical issues – they worked away from the group during a training session that started with a video session at 9:15 a.m. and lasted until 11:00 a.m.

In the afternoon, starting at 7:00 p.m., the team completed another closed session. It was the penultimate in the heat of the Aragonese capital, since this Friday morning Real Zaragoza will train again at the Ciudad Deportiva and, after lunch, the bus will leave to take the expedition to the Barceló Monasterio de Boltaña hotel.

It is likely that not all players who have been training in recent days will get on the bus. The club are hoping to advance a few more outings in the coming hours and, although not fully closed, the players in question would not have to face the 160 kilometer trip to Boltaña.

It’s well known as Nick Buyla, Javi Ros, Clemente, Lasure, Nieto, Carbonell or Bikoro, who have accepted the proposal to extend their vacations, they wear the transferable sign and are the ones with the most options to leave soon; but there are other players like Ratón, Petrovic or Narváez who, depending on market circumstances, could also end up leaving.

Either way, Carcedo will start working in Boltaña with an excess of footballers. Especially since those who were absent this Thursday due to various ailments (Cristian, Ratón, Clemente, Zapater and Vigaray) will gradually return to training.
