The Barça club has confirmed the first players who will be in the national first division
The club’s objective is to consolidate the project in the Endesa Women’s League
After a bright season, with undisputed superiority, and a final balance sheet of 27 wins and only three losses, the Barca CBS got the long awaited result promotion to Endesa Women’s League, the first state women’s basketball division.
As the start of the pre-season approaches, the team, born in the agreement between FC Barcelona and CB Santfeliuenc, begins to prepare for the season in the elite, and confirmed that seven players who were the architects of the ascent, will continue in the team. It is Julia Rueda, Lucia Navarro, Carolina Guerrero, Deva Bermejo, Cristina Rakocevic, and the captains Itziar Llobet and Marta Canella.
Coach Isaac Fernández renewed until 2023
For its part, the club has already confirmed a few days ago the continuity of coach Isaac Fernández, who renewed his contract with the Barça club until 2023. Fernández arrived at Barça CBS in the summer of 2018, and will take charge of the team in this new stage in the first division.
The objective, to settle in the Endesa Women’s League
As for aspirations, the club aims to establish the team in the Endesa Women’s League, a demanding challenge given the great competitiveness and quality of the first women’s national basketball division, with most ambitious projects season after season.
